At HMS Networks, we empower industries to connect, communicate and innovate. Within our Industrial Data Solutions (IDS) division, we are looking for an R&D Firmware Engineer to join our Gateway/Firmware team and contribute to the development of our firmware products.

As Firmware Engineer, you will play a key role within an experienced team, contributing to technical analysis and firmware development for new products, while working closely with other firmware teams and programs.

Your role

The R&D Firmware Engineer is responsible for the development, integration, validation, and maintenance of firmware components ranging from low-level device drivers to high-level embedded applications. The R&D Firmware Engineer contributes to the development of new features, the improvement of existing solutions, and the resolution of product issues throughout the product lifecycle. 

Those activities are performed within a self-organized cross-functional Development Team, in close relationship with the Product Owners and the R&D managers. 

Your responsibilities

  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies within the firmware team.
  • Contribute to firmware development for our product range.
  • Analyze technical and business requirements to translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Collaborate daily and coordinate with the Firmware team and bi-weekly with other firmware teams and programs.
  • Support the team in adapting to new products and evolving technologies.
  • Contribute positively within a dynamic environment.

Your profile

Hard skills 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (software environment).
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (mandatory).
  • Solid experience with asynchronous programming.
  • Knowledge of C++ is a plus.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and French (mandatory)
