If you are an experienced software engineer who enjoys combining hands-on development with technical guidance and continuous improvement, this role could be a great fit.

You will join an established and collaborative team that already delivers valuable solutions to our manufacturing operations. We are looking for someone with solid experience who can contribute their expertise, share best practices, support technical decision-making, and help the team continue to grow and evolve.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the Supply Chain organization, you join the Industrialization team and support all HMS divisions in the mass manufacturing of Industrial IoT products, mainly through external manufacturing partners.

Your focus is to develop, deploy, and maintain software-driven test solutions for PCBAs and final products while contributing your experience to strengthen the team's software engineering practices.

Working alongside skilled colleagues, you will serve as a technical point of reference for complex topics, helping to ensure that test solutions remain reliable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with manufacturing needs.

The role combines long-term development, operational support, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement within an Agile environment where collaboration and knowledge sharing are key.

Test Solution Development & Reliability

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications for manufacturing test benches used for PCBAs and final products.
  • Translate product and manufacturing requirements into clear and effective test specifications.
  • Ensure test solutions are reliable, maintainable, traceable, and aligned with HMS production test guidelines.
  • Monitor test system performance and support high availability across manufacturing environments.
  • Implement validation mechanisms such as self-tests, regression testing, and automated verification.
  • Support deployment and integration of test solutions within production facilities.
  • Contribute to the standardization and reuse of test frameworks, architectures, and methodologies.

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as a technical contributor and trusted point of reference for complex software and software-hardware integration challenges.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices, including version control, testing, code reviews, and release management.
  • Support technical decision-making by balancing operational needs, software quality, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues to solve challenging technical issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, solution robustness, and system reliability.
  • Contribute to the evolution of testing tools, automation capabilities, and data utilization, including AI-driven opportunities where relevant.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Design, R&D, Quality, IT, Manufacturing, and external partners to ensure alignment across disciplines.
  • Support manufacturing operations through effective troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help ensure a smooth transition from product development to industrial production.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture built on knowledge sharing, mutual support, and operational excellence.

YOUR PROFILE

You are an experienced software engineer with 7-10 years of experience working in industrial, embedded, manufacturing, or software-intensive environments. You enjoy being hands-on while also bringing the perspective and maturity that help teams solve complex challenges and make sustainable technical decisions.

You will likely recognize yourself in several of the following:

  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Experience developing software that interacts with electronic hardware.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, test systems, industrial environments, or embedded technologies.
  • Comfortable working with Linux, scripting, APIs, backend services, and version control tools such as Git.
  • Knowledge of NI TestStand and/or LabVIEW is a strong asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across software, hardware, and production environments.
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to continuous improvement.

What we value most
